¹⁹ When anyone hears the word about the kingdom and doesn’t understand it, the evil one comes and snatches away what was sown in his heart. This is the one sown along the path.^(A)

³⁸ the field is the world; and the good seed – these are the children of the kingdom. The weeds are the children of the evil one,^(A)

¹⁵ I am not praying that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.^(A)

³ But the Lord is faithful; he will strengthen you and guard you from the evil one.^(A)
