²⁸ When Jesus had finished saying these things,^(A) the crowds were astonished at his teaching,^(B)

³³ And when the crowds heard this, they were astonished at his teaching.

¹⁸ The chief priests and the scribes^(A) heard it and started looking for a way to kill him. For they were afraid^(B) of him, because the whole crowd was astonished by his teaching.

³² They were astonished at his teaching because his message had authority.^(A)

A Generous and Growing Church

⁴² They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching,^(A) to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer.^(B)

¹⁹ They took him and brought him to the Areopagus,^[a] and said, ‘May we learn about this new teaching you are presenting?^(A)
