⁴² And whoever gives^(A) even a cup of cold water to one of these little ones because he is a disciple,^[a](B) truly I tell you, he will never lose his reward.’

⁴⁰ ‘And the King will answer them, “Truly I tell you, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers and sisters of mine, you did for me.”^(A)

⁴ they begged us earnestly for the privilege of sharing^(A) in the ministry to the saints,

³ We recall, in the presence of our God and Father,^(A) your work produced by faith,^(B) your labour motivated by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.^(C)

¹⁸ May the Lord grant that he obtain mercy^(A) from him on that day. You know very well how much he ministered at Ephesus.^(B)
