¹¹ And he received the sign of circumcision^(A) as a seal of the righteousness that he had by faith^[a](B) while still uncircumcised. This was to make him the father^(C) of all who believe^(D) but are not circumcised, so that righteousness may be credited to them also.

¹⁶ This is why the promise is by faith, so that it may be according to grace,^(A) to guarantee it to all the descendants^(B) – not only to the one who is of the law^[a] but also to the one who is of Abraham’s faith. He is the father of us all.

⁸ Now the Scripture saw in advance that God would justify the Gentiles by faith and proclaimed the gospel in advance to Abraham,^(A) saying, All the nations^[a]will be blessed through you.^[b](B)
