⁶ For we know that our old self^[a](A) was crucified with him^(B) so that the body ruled by sin^[b] might be rendered powerless,^(C) so that we may no longer be enslaved to sin,

⁶ But now we have been released from the law, since we have died to what held us, so that we may serve in the newness of the Spirit^(A) and not in the old letter of the law.

⁷ Clean out the old leaven so that you may be a new unleavened batch, as indeed you are. For Christ our Passover lamb^(A) has been sacrificed.^{[a] 8} Therefore, let us observe the feast, not with old leaven or with the leaven of malice and evil,^(B) but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

¹⁴ but their minds were hardened.^(A) For to this day, at the reading of the old covenant,^(B) the same veil remains; it is not lifted, because it is set aside only in Christ.^(C)

⁹ Do not lie^(A) to one another, since you have put off^(B) the old self^(C) with its practices
