²³ Not only that,^(A) but we ourselves who have the Spirit as the firstfruits^(B) – we also groan within ourselves,^(C) eagerly waiting for adoption,^(D) the redemption of our bodies.^{(E) 24} Now in this hope^(F) we were saved, but hope^(G) that is seen is not hope, because who hopes for what he sees? ²⁵ Now if we hope for what we do not see,^(H) we eagerly wait for it with patience.

³ We recall, in the presence of our God and Father,^(A) your work produced by faith,^(B) your labour motivated by love, and your endurance inspired by hope in our Lord Jesus Christ.^(C)
