¹³ Jesse was the father of Eliab (his firstborn), Abinadab (his second son), Shimea (his third son), ¹⁴ Nethanel (his fourth son), Raddai (his fifth son), ¹⁵ Ozem (his sixth son), and David (his seventh son). ¹⁶ Their sisters were Zeruiah and Abigail. Zeruiah’s three sons were Abishai, Joab, and Asahel. ¹⁷ Abigail was the mother of Amasa, whose father was Jether, a descendant of Ishmael.
