1 Chronicles 10:7-9

⁷ And when all the men of Israel who were in the valley saw how they fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they abandoned their cities and fled away. And the Philistines came and dwelt in them.

⁸ And the next day, when the Philistines came to plunder those who had been killed, they found Saul and his sons lying on Mount Gilboa.

⁹ And after they had stripped him, they took his head and his armor and sent them into the land of the Philistines, all around, to proclaim it to their idols, and to the people.
