¹⁹ Now summon all Israel to meet me at Mount Carmel,^(A) along with the 450 prophets of Baal and the 400 prophets of Asherah^(B) who eat at Jezebel’s table.”

²² Then Elijah said to the people, “I am the only remaining prophet of the Lord,^(A) but Baal’s prophets are 450 men.

⁶ So the king of Israel gathered the prophets, about four hundred men,^(A) and asked them, “Should I go against Ramoth-gilead for war or should I refrain?”

They replied, “March up, and the Lord will hand it over to the king.”^(B)
