¹¹ Then he said, “Go out and stand on the mountain in the Lord’s presence.”^(A)

At that moment, the Lord passed by.^(B) A great and mighty wind^(C) was tearing at the mountains and was shattering cliffs before the Lord, but the Lord was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake,^(D) but the Lord was not in the earthquake.

The Lord Speaks

38 Then the Lord answered Job from the whirlwind.^(A) He said:

Vision of the Lord’s Glory

⁴ I looked, and there was a whirlwind^(A) coming from the north, a huge cloud with fire flashing back and forth and brilliant light all around it. In the center of the fire, there was a gleam like amber.^(B)
