¹² Round the great courtyard, as well as the inner courtyard of the Lord’s temple and the portico of the temple, were three rows of dressed stone and a row of trimmed cedar beams.^(A)

¹² The king tore down the altars that the kings of Judah had made on the roof^(A) of Ahaz’s upper chamber.^(B) He also tore down the altars that Manasseh had made^(C) in the two courtyards of the Lord’s temple. Then he smashed them^[a] there and threw their dust into the Kidron Valley.
