²⁰ But one of the sons of Ahimelech, the son of Ahitub (whose name was Abiathar) escaped and fled after David.

²¹ And Abiathar told David that Saul had killed the LORD’s priests.

²² And David said to Abiathar, “I knew it the same day, when Doeg the Edomite was there, that he would tell Saul. I am the cause of the death of all the people of your father’s House.
