13 For we do not write you anything you cannot read or understand. And I hope that, 14 as you have understood us in part, you will come to understand fully that you can boast of us just as we will boast of you in the day of the Lord Jesus.(A)
15 Because I was confident of this, I wanted to visit you(B) first so that you might benefit twice.(C)

13 Alles wat we jullie schrijven is helemaal zonder oneerlijke bedoelingen. Ik hoop dat jullie dat weten. 14 En ik hoop dan ook dat jullie net zo blij met ons zullen zijn als wij met jullie, op de dag dat onze Heer Jezus terugkomt.
15 Omdat ik daarop vertrouw, had ik al eerder het plan om naar jullie toe te komen. Want ik wilde een tweede keer een zegen voor jullie zijn.
