¹⁶ But Elisha said, ‘As the Lord lives,^(A) in whose presence I stand, I will not accept it.’^(B) Naaman urged him to accept it, but he refused.

Come to the Lord

¹⁷ Then Daniel answered the king, ‘You may keep your gifts and give your rewards to someone else;^(A) however, I will read the inscription for the king and make the interpretation known to him.

⁸ Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those with leprosy,^[a] drive out demons.^(A) Freely you received, freely give.

³⁸ Peter replied, ‘Repent^(A) and be baptised,^(B) each of you, in the name^(C) of Jesus Christ for the forgiveness of your sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.
