18 The Philistines had raided the cities of Judah in the foothills[a] and the Negev.[b] They captured and settled in Beth Shemesh, Aijalon, Gederoth, Soco and its surrounding villages, Timnah and its surrounding villages, and Gimzo and its surrounding villages.
