² For I am jealous^(A) for you with a godly jealousy,^(B) because I have promised you in marriage to one husband – to present a pure^(C) virgin to Christ.

⁴ Therefore, my brothers and sisters, you also were put to death^(A) in relation to the law^(B) through the body of Christ^(C) so that you may belong to another. You belong to him who was raised from the dead in order that we may bear fruit for God.
