²⁷ The king said also to Zadok the priest, “Are you not ^(A)a seer? Return to the city in peace and your ^(B)two sons with you, your son Ahimaaz and Jonathan the son of Abiathar.

³⁶ Behold, ^(A)their two sons are with them there, Ahimaaz, Zadok’s son and Jonathan, Abiathar’s son; and ^(B)by their hand you shall send me everything that you hear.”

^17 (A)Now Jonathan and Ahimaaz were staying at ^(B)En-rogel, and a servant-woman would go and inform them, and they would go and inform King David, for they could not be seen entering the city.

²⁰ Then Absalom’s servants came to the woman at the house and said, “Where are Ahimaaz and Jonathan?” And ^(A)the woman said to them, “They have crossed the brook of water.” And when they searched and could not find them, they returned to Jerusalem.
