¹⁸ to open their eyes^(A) so that they may turn^[a] from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.”^(B)

¹⁴ The Holy Spirit is the down payment^(A) of our inheritance, until the redemption of the possession, to the praise of his glory.

¹² giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled you^[a] to share in the saints’ inheritance in the light.^(A)

²⁴ knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ.

¹⁵ Therefore, he is the mediator^(A) of a new covenant,^[a](B) so that those who are called might receive the promise^(C) of the eternal inheritance, because a death has taken place for redemption from the transgressions committed under the first covenant.^(D)

⁴ and into an inheritance that is imperishable,^(A) undefiled, and unfading, kept in heaven^(B) for you.
