⁵⁸ They dragged him out of the city and began to stone^(A) him. And the witnesses laid their garments at the feet of a young man named Saul.^(B)

8 Saul agreed with putting him to death.

On that day a severe persecution broke out against the church in Jerusalem, and all except the apostles were scattered throughout the land of Judea and Samaria.^(A)

³² Although they know God’s just sentence – that those who practise such things deserve to die^[a](A) – they not only do them, but even applaud^[b](B) others who practise them.
