¹² For I know that your crimes are many
and your sins innumerable.
They oppress the righteous,^(A) take a bribe,
and deprive the poor of justice^(B) at the city gates.

¹¹ Her leaders issue rulings for a bribe,^(A)
her priests teach for payment,^(B)
and her prophets practise divination for silver.
Yet they lean on the Lord, saying,
‘Isn’t the Lord^(C) among us?
No disaster will overtake us.’
