8 And also their gods, with their [a]molten images, and with their goodly vessels of silver and of gold, shall he carry captive into Egypt; and he shall [b]refrain some years from the king of the north. 9 And he shall come into the realm of the king of the south, but he shall return into his own land.
10 And his sons shall war, and shall assemble a multitude of great forces, [c]which shall come on, and overflow, and pass through; and [d]they shall return and war, even to his fortress.

8 He will also seize their gods,(A) their metal images and their valuable articles of silver and gold and carry them off to Egypt.(B) For some years he will leave the king of the North alone. 9 Then the king of the North will invade the realm of the king of the South but will retreat to his own country. 10 His sons will prepare for war and assemble a great army, which will sweep on like an irresistible flood(C) and carry the battle as far as his fortress.
