¹⁰ When you cross the Jordan and live in the land the Lord your God is giving you to inherit,^(A) and he gives you rest from all the enemies around you and you live in security,

¹⁸ ‘The Lord your God is with you, isn’t he? And hasn’t he given you rest on every side?^(A) For he has handed the land’s inhabitants over to me, and the land has been subdued before the Lord and his people.

¹⁸ And to whom did he swear that they would not enter his rest, if not to those who disobeyed? ¹⁹ So we see that they were unable to enter because of unbelief.
