¹⁷ “^(A)You shall not pervert the justice ^[a]due a stranger or ^[b]an orphan, nor ^(B)seize a widow’s garment as a ^[c]pledge.

¹⁸ But you are to remember that you were a slave in Egypt, and that the Lord your God redeemed you from there; therefore I am commanding you to do this thing.

⁶ if you do not oppress the stranger, the ^[a](A)orphan, or the widow, and do not shed ^(B)innocent blood in this place, nor ^(C)follow other gods to your own ruin,

⁷ then I will let you ^(A)live in this place, in the ^(B)land that I gave to your fathers forever and ever.
