Defeat of Og of Bashan

3 ‘Then we turned and went up the road to Bashan, and King Og of Bashan^(A) came out against us with his whole army to do battle at Edrei.^(B)

¹⁰ all the cities of the plateau, Gilead, and Bashan as far as Salecah and Edrei, cities of Og’s kingdom in Bashan.^(A)

⁴ King Og^[a] of Bashan, of the remnant of the Rephaim, lived in Ashtaroth and Edrei.^(A)

¹² the whole kingdom of Og in Bashan, who reigned in Ashtaroth and Edrei; he was one of the remaining Rephaim.

Moses struck them down and drove them out,^(A)

³¹ But half of Gilead, and Og’s royal cities in Bashan – Ashtaroth and Edrei – are for the descendants of Machir son of Manasseh (that is, half the descendants of Machir by their clans).
