⁸ But because the Lord loved^(A) you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors, he brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed^(B) you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

¹⁵ Yet the Lord had his heart set on your ancestors and loved them.^(A) He chose their descendants after them – he chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.^(B)

⁵ The ancestors are theirs,^(A) and from them, by physical descent,^[a] came the Christ,^(B) who is God^(C) over all,^(D) praised forever.^[b](E) Amen.
