Ecclesiastes 1:15-17

¹⁵ What is ^(A)crooked cannot be straightened, and what is lacking cannot be counted.

¹⁶ I ^[a]said to myself, “Behold, I have magnified and increased ^(B)wisdom more than all who were over Jerusalem before me; and my ^[b]mind has observed ^[c]a wealth of wisdom and knowledge.” ¹⁷ And I ^(C)applied my ^[d]mind to know wisdom and to ^(D)know insanity and foolishness; I realized that this also is ^(E)striving after wind.
