³ Then Moses said to the people, ‘Remember this day when you came out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, for the Lord brought you out of here by the strength of his hand. Nothing leavened may be eaten.^(A)

¹⁴ ‘In the future, when your son^(A) asks you, “What does this mean? ” say to him, “By the strength of his hand the Lord brought us out of Egypt, out of the place of slavery.

⁸ But because the Lord loved^(A) you and kept the oath he swore to your ancestors, he brought you out with a strong hand and redeemed^(B) you from the place of slavery, from the power of Pharaoh king of Egypt.

¹³ ‘This is what the Lord, the God of Israel, says: I made a covenant^(A) with your ancestors when I brought them out of the land of Egypt, out of the place of slavery, saying,
