⁵ Now if you will carefully listen to me and keep my covenant,^(A) you will be my own possession^(B) out of all the peoples, although the whole earth is mine,

⁶ For you are a holy people^(A) belonging to the Lord your God. The Lord your God has chosen you to be his own possession^(B) out of all the peoples on the face of the earth.

⁷ ‘The Lord had his heart set on you and chose you, not because you were more numerous than all peoples, for you were the fewest of all peoples.

¹⁵ Yet the Lord had his heart set on your ancestors and loved them.^(A) He chose their descendants after them – he chose you out of all the peoples, as it is today.^(B)
