¹⁴ ‘Who made you a commander and judge over us? ’ the man replied. ‘Are you planning to kill me as you killed the Egyptian? ’

Then Moses became afraid and thought, ‘What I did is certainly known.’

⁵⁵ At that time Jesus said to the crowds, ‘Have you come out with swords and clubs, as if I were a criminal,^[a] to capture me? Every day I used to sit, teaching in the temple, and you didn’t arrest me.^(A)
