² ‘You must not follow a crowd in wrongdoing. Do not testify in a lawsuit and go along with a crowd to pervert justice.^{(A) 3} Do not show favouritism to a poor person in his lawsuit.

⁶ ‘You must not deny justice to a poor person among you in his lawsuit. ⁷ Stay far away from a false accusation. Do not kill the innocent and the just, because I will not justify the guilty.^{(A) 8} You must not take a bribe,^(B) for a bribe blinds the clear-sighted and corrupts the words^[a] of the righteous. ⁹ You must not oppress a resident foreigner;^(C) you yourselves know how it feels to be a resident foreigner because you were resident foreigners in the land of Egypt.

⁹ The Lord your God will make you prosper abundantly in all the work of your hands,^(A) your offspring,^[a] the offspring of your livestock, and the produce of your land. Indeed, the Lord will again delight in your prosperity, as he delighted in that of your ancestors,
