²⁰ You may redeem the firstborn of a donkey with a sheep, but if you do not redeem it, break its neck.^(A) You must redeem all the firstborn of your sons. No one is to appear before me empty-handed.

⁴⁶ As the redemption price for the 273 firstborn Israelites who outnumber the Levites, ⁴⁷ collect five shekels for each person, according to the standard sanctuary shekel – twenty gerahs to the shekel.^[a](A)
