¹¹ But then Pharaoh called the wise men and sorcerers—the magicians^(A) of Egypt, and they also did the same thing by their occult practices.^(B)

²² But the magicians of Egypt did the same thing by their occult practices. So Pharaoh’s heart was hard, and he would not listen to them, as the Lord had said.

²⁰ In every matter of wisdom and understanding that the king consulted them about, he found them ten times^[a](A) better than all the magicians and mediums^(B) in his entire kingdom.

² So the king gave orders to summon the magicians, mediums, sorcerers, and Chaldeans^[a](A) to tell the king his dreams. When they came and stood before the king,
