Prophecies Against the Nations
Judgement against Ammon
25 Then the word of the Lord came to me: 2 ‘Son of man, face the Ammonites and prophesy against them.(A) 3 Say to the Ammonites, “Hear the word of the Lord God: This is what the Lord God says: Because you said, ‘Aha! ’(B) about my sanctuary when it was desecrated, about the land of Israel when it was laid waste, and about the house of Judah when they went into exile, 4 therefore I am about to give you to the people of the east as a possession. They will set up their encampments and pitch their tents among you. They will eat your fruit and drink your milk. 5 I will make Rabbah a pasture(C) for camels and Ammon a resting place for sheep. Then you will know that I am the Lord.
6 ‘ “For this is what the Lord God says: Because you clapped your hands,(D) stamped your feet, and rejoiced over the land of Israel with wholehearted contempt, 7 therefore I am about to stretch out my hand against you(E) and give you as plunder to the nations. I will cut you off from the peoples and eliminate you from the countries. I will destroy you, and you will know that I am the Lord.
Judgement against Moab
8 ‘ “This is what the Lord God says: Because Moab and Seir said,(F) ‘Look, the house of Judah is like all the other nations.’ 9 Therefore I am about to expose Moab’s flank, beginning with its[a] frontier cities, the splendour of the land: Beth-jeshimoth, Baal-meon,(G) and Kiriathaim. 10 I will give it along with Ammon to the people of the east as a possession, so that Ammon will not be remembered among the nations. 11 So I will execute judgements against Moab, and they will know that I am the Lord.
Judgement against Edom
12 ‘ “This is what the Lord God says: Because Edom acted vengefully against the house of Judah(H) and incurred grievous guilt by taking revenge on them, 13 therefore this is what the Lord God says: I will stretch out my hand against Edom and cut off both people and animals from it. I will make it a wasteland; they will fall by the sword from Teman to Dedan. 14 I will take my vengeance(I) on Edom through my people Israel, and they will deal with Edom according to my anger and wrath. So they will know my vengeance.
This is the declaration of the Lord God.
Judgement against Philistia
15 ‘ “This is what the Lord God says: Because the Philistines acted in vengeance and took revenge with deep contempt,(J) destroying because of their perpetual hatred, 16 therefore this is what the Lord God says: I am about to stretch out my hand against the Philistines,(K) cutting off the Cherethites and wiping out what remains of the coastal peoples.[b](L) 17 I will execute severe vengeance against them with furious rebukes. They will know that I am the Lord(M) when I take my vengeance on them.” ’

25 The word of the Lord came to me, saying, 2 “Son of man, (A)set your face (B)against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them. 3 Say to the Ammonites, ‘Hear the word of the Lord God! Thus says the Lord God: (C)“Because you said, ‘Aha!’ against My sanctuary when it was profaned, and against the land of Israel when it was desolate, and against the house of Judah when they went into captivity, 4 indeed, therefore, I will deliver you as a possession to the [a]men of the East, and they shall set their encampments among you and make their dwellings among you; they shall eat your fruit, and they shall drink your milk. 5 And I will make (D)Rabbah (E)a stable for camels and Ammon a resting place for flocks. (F)Then you shall know that I am the Lord.”
6 ‘For thus says the Lord God: “Because you (G)clapped your hands, stamped your feet, and (H)rejoiced in heart with all your disdain for the land of Israel, 7 indeed, therefore, I will (I)stretch out My hand against you, and give you as plunder to the nations; I will cut you off from the peoples, and I will cause you to perish from the countries; I will destroy you, and you shall know that I am the Lord.”
Proclamation Against Moab
8 ‘Thus says the Lord God: “Because (J)Moab and (K)Seir say, ‘Look! The house of Judah is like all the nations,’ 9 therefore, behold, I will clear the territory of Moab of cities, of the cities on its frontier, the glory of the country, Beth Jeshimoth, Baal Meon, and (L)Kirjathaim. 10 (M)To the men of the East I will give it as a possession, together with the Ammonites, that the Ammonites (N)may not be remembered among the nations. 11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab, and they shall know that I am the Lord.”
Proclamation Against Edom
12 ‘Thus says the Lord God: (O)“Because of what Edom did against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and has greatly offended by avenging itself on them,” 13 therefore thus says the Lord God: “I will also stretch out My hand against Edom, cut off man and beast from it, and make it desolate from Teman; [b]Dedan shall fall by the sword. 14 (P)I will lay My vengeance on Edom by the hand of My people Israel, that they may do in Edom according to My anger and according to My fury; and they shall know My vengeance,” says the Lord God.
Proclamation Against Philistia
15 ‘Thus says the Lord God: (Q)“Because (R)the Philistines dealt vengefully and took vengeance with [c]a spiteful heart, to destroy because of the [d]old hatred,” 16 therefore thus says the Lord God: (S)“I will stretch out My hand against the Philistines, and I will cut off the (T)Cherethites (U)and destroy the remnant of the seacoast. 17 I will (V)execute great vengeance on them with furious rebukes; (W)and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I lay My vengeance upon them.” ’ ”

2 Son of man, set thy face against the Ammonites, and prophesy against them;
3 And say unto the Ammonites, Hear the word of the Lord God; Thus saith the Lord God; Because thou saidst, Aha, against my sanctuary, when it was profaned; and against the land of Israel, when it was desolate; and against the house of Judah, when they went into captivity;
4 Behold, therefore I will deliver thee to the men of the east for a possession, and they shall set their palaces in thee, and make their dwellings in thee: they shall eat thy fruit, and they shall drink thy milk.
5 And I will make Rabbah a stable for camels, and the Ammonites a couching place for flocks: and ye shall know that I am the Lord.
6 For thus saith the Lord God; Because thou hast clapped thine hands, and stamped with the feet, and rejoiced in heart with all thy despite against the land of Israel;
7 Behold, therefore I will stretch out mine hand upon thee, and will deliver thee for a spoil to the heathen; and I will cut thee off from the people, and I will cause thee to perish out of the countries: I will destroy thee; and thou shalt know that I am the Lord.
8 Thus saith the Lord God; Because that Moab and Seir do say, Behold, the house of Judah is like unto all the heathen;
9 Therefore, behold, I will open the side of Moab from the cities, from his cities which are on his frontiers, the glory of the country, Bethjeshimoth, Baalmeon, and Kiriathaim,
10 Unto the men of the east with the Ammonites, and will give them in possession, that the Ammonites may not be remembered among the nations.
11 And I will execute judgments upon Moab; and they shall know that I am the Lord.
12 Thus saith the Lord God; Because that Edom hath dealt against the house of Judah by taking vengeance, and hath greatly offended, and revenged himself upon them;
13 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; I will also stretch out mine hand upon Edom, and will cut off man and beast from it; and I will make it desolate from Teman; and they of Dedan shall fall by the sword.
14 And I will lay my vengeance upon Edom by the hand of my people Israel: and they shall do in Edom according to mine anger and according to my fury; and they shall know my vengeance, saith the Lord God.
15 Thus saith the Lord God; Because the Philistines have dealt by revenge, and have taken vengeance with a despiteful heart, to destroy it for the old hatred;
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God; Behold, I will stretch out mine hand upon the Philistines, and I will cut off the Cherethims, and destroy the remnant of the sea coast.
17 And I will execute great vengeance upon them with furious rebukes; and they shall know that I am the Lord, when I shall lay my vengeance upon them.
