¹² As a shepherd looks for his sheep on the day he is among his scattered flock, so I will look for my flock. I will rescue them from all the places where they have been scattered^(A) on a day of clouds and total darkness.

³ The gatekeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out.

¹⁴ ‘I am the good shepherd. I know my own, and my own know me,

²⁸ Be on guard for yourselves and for all the flock^(A) of which the Holy Spirit has appointed you as overseers,^(B) to shepherd the church of God,^[a] which he purchased with his own blood.^(C)
