¹⁶ The hearth is square, 6.4 metres^[a] long by 6.4 metres wide.^{(A) 17} The ledge is 7.4 metres^[b] long by 7.4 metres wide, with four equal sides.^(B) The rim all round it is 27 centimetres,^[c] and its gutter is 53 centimetres all round it. The altar’s steps face east.’^(C)

¹⁸ Then he said to me, ‘Son of man,^(D) this is what the Lord God says: These are the statutes for the altar on the day it is constructed, so that burnt offerings^(E) may be sacrificed on it and blood may be splattered on it:^(F)
