⁷ The Lord, the God of heaven,^(A) who took me from my father’s house and from my native land,^(B) who spoke to me and swore to me, “I will give this land to your offspring”^[a](C) – he will send his angel before you,^(D) and you can take a wife for my son from there.

⁴⁰ He said to me, “The Lord before whom I have walked^(A) will send his angel with you and make your journey a success, and you will take a wife for my son from my clan and from my father’s family.
