The Voice
7 Let’s go down and break this up! If We confuse their language, they won’t be able to understand each other’s words.
8 This is how the Eternal scattered people from Shinar all across the surface of the earth. Since they were unable to communicate, they stopped working on the city and went their separate ways. 9 So this is why the city was called Babel:[a] because it was there that the Eternal confused the language of all the peoples and scattered them across the surface of the earth.

- 11:9 In Hebrew Babel sounds like the word for “confusion.” Babel is also known as Babylon, a city which comes to symbolize every vile, arrogant, and corrupt human impulse.

7 Come, let us(A) go down(B) and confuse their language so they will not understand each other.”(C)
8 So the Lord scattered them from there over all the earth,(D) and they stopped building the city. 9 That is why it was called Babel[a](E)—because there the Lord confused the language(F) of the whole world.(G) From there the Lord scattered(H) them over the face of the whole earth.
