⁵ He took him outside and said, “Look at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.” Then he said to him, “Your offspring will be that numerous.”^(A)

⁸ See, I have set the land before you. Enter and take possession of the land^(A) the Lord swore to give to your ancestors^(B) Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob and their future descendants.’^(C)

¹⁰ The Lord your God has so multiplied you that today you are as numerous as the stars of the sky.^(A)
