⁵ He took him outside and said, ‘Look at the sky and count the stars, if you are able to count them.’ Then he said to him, ‘Your offspring will be that numerous.’^(A)

¹⁷ I will indeed bless you^(A) and make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky^(B) and the sand on the seashore.^(C) Your offspring will possess the city gates of their^[a] enemies.^(D)

⁴ I will make your offspring as numerous as the stars of the sky, I will give your offspring all these lands, and all the nations of the earth will be blessed^[a] by your offspring,^(A)
