¹⁹ For I have chosen^[a] him so that he will command his children and his house after him to keep the way of the Lord by doing what is right and just. This is how the Lord will fulfil to Abraham what he promised him.’

¹⁸ Do what is right and good in the Lord’s sight, so that you may prosper and so that you may enter and possess the good land^(A) the Lord your God swore to give your ancestors,^(B)

⁷ Little children, let no one deceive you. The one who does what is right is righteous, just as he is righteous.

¹⁰ This is how God’s children and the devil’s children become obvious. Whoever does not do what is right is not of God, especially the one who does not love his brother or sister.^(A)
