¹⁴ Laban said to him, ‘Yes, you are my own flesh and blood.’^[a](A)

After Jacob had stayed with him for a month,

¹² You are my brothers, my flesh and blood.^[a](A) So why should you be the last to restore the king? ” ¹³ And tell Amasa,^(B) “Aren’t you my flesh and blood?^[b] May God punish me and do so severely if you don’t become commander of my army from now on instead of Joab! ” ’

³ For I could wish^(A) that I myself were cursed^(B) and cut off^[a] from Christ for the benefit of my brothers and sisters, my own flesh and blood.
