²⁷ But when they told Jacob all that Joseph had said to them, and when he saw the carts that Joseph had sent to transport him, the spirit of their father Jacob revived.

²² So the Lord listened to Elijah, and the boy’s life came into him again, and he lived.^(A)

²¹ Once, as the Israelites were burying a man, suddenly they saw a raiding party, so they threw the man into Elisha’s tomb. When he touched Elisha’s bones, the man revived and stood up!^(A)

²¹ Now Isaiah^(A) had said, ‘Let them take a lump of pressed figs and apply it to his infected skin, so that he may recover.’

³ Then he said to me, ‘Son of man, can these bones live? ’

I replied, ‘Lord God, only you know.’^(A)

¹⁴ I will put my Spirit in you,^(A) and you will live, and I will settle you in your own land. Then you will know that I am the Lord. I have spoken, and I will do it.^(B) This is the declaration of the Lord.” ’
