² In these last days,^(A) he has spoken to us by his Son. God has appointed him heir of all things^(B) and made the universe^[a](C) through him.

¹⁰ For in bringing many sons and daughters to glory, it was entirely appropriate that God—for whom and through whom all things exist—should make the pioneer^[a] of their salvation perfect through sufferings.^(A)

² He is able to deal gently with those who are ignorant and are going astray, since he is also clothed with weakness.^(A)
