⁴ For it is impossible to renew to repentance those who were once enlightened, who tasted the heavenly gift, who shared in the Holy Spirit,^{(A) 5} who tasted God’s good word and the powers of the coming age, ⁶ and who have fallen away. This is because,^[a] to their own harm, they are crucifying the Son of God again and holding him up to contempt.^(B)

Warning against Deliberate Sin

²⁶ For if we deliberately go on sinning after receiving the knowledge of the truth, there no longer remains a sacrifice for sins,^(A)

¹⁶ If anyone sees a fellow believer^[a] committing a sin that doesn’t lead to death, he should ask, and God will give life to him – to those who commit sin that doesn’t lead to death. There is sin^[b] that leads to death. I am not saying he should pray about that.
