¹⁷For it has been testified:

You are a priest for ever
according to the order of Melchizedek.^[a]^(A)

¹⁸So the previous command is annulled because it was weak and unprofitable^(B) ¹⁹(for the law perfected^(C) nothing), but a better hope is introduced, through which we draw near to God.^(D)
