Isaiah 38:4-8
New King James Version
4 And the word of the Lord came to Isaiah, saying, 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘Thus says the Lord, the God of David your father: “I have heard your prayer, I have seen your tears; surely I will add to your days fifteen years. 6 I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria, and (A)I will defend this city.” ’ 7 And this is (B)the sign to you from the Lord, that the Lord will do this thing which He has spoken: 8 Behold, I will bring the shadow on the sundial, which has gone down with the sun on the sundial of Ahaz, ten degrees backward.” So the sun returned ten degrees on the dial by which it had gone down.

4 Then the word(A) of the Lord came to Isaiah: 5 “Go and tell Hezekiah, ‘This is what the Lord, the God of your father David,(B) says: I have heard your prayer and seen your tears;(C) I will add fifteen years(D) to your life. 6 And I will deliver you and this city from the hand of the king of Assyria. I will defend(E) this city.
7 “‘This is the Lord’s sign(F) to you that the Lord will do what he has promised: 8 I will make the shadow cast by the sun go back the ten steps it has gone down on the stairway of Ahaz.’” So the sunlight went back the ten steps it had gone down.(G)

4 Alors l’Eternel s’adressa à Esaïe en disant : 5 Va dire à Ezéchias : « Voici ce que déclare l’Eternel, le Dieu de David, ton ancêtre : J’ai entendu ta prière, et j’ai vu tes larmes. Eh bien, je vais prolonger ta vie de quinze années. 6 Je te délivrerai, toi et cette ville, du roi d’Assyrie, et je protégerai cette ville. 7 Voici le signe que l’Eternel t’accorde pour te confirmer qu’il accomplira cette promesse qu’il vient de te donner : 8 il va faire reculer de dix degrés l’ombre qui est déjà descendue sur le cadran solaire d’Ahaz. »
Effectivement, le soleil recula de dix degrés sur le cadran solaire.
