² Listen, heavens, and pay attention, earth,^(A)
for the Lord has spoken:
‘I have raised children^[a] and brought them up,
but they have rebelled against me.^(B)

²⁵ Therefore the Lord’s anger burned^(A) against his people.
He raised his hand against them and struck them;
the mountains quaked,^(B)
and their corpses were like rubbish in the streets.
In all this, his anger has not turned away,
and his hand is still raised to strike.^(C)

³ Their slain will be thrown out,
and the stench of their corpses will rise;^(A)
the mountains will flow^[a] with their blood.^(B)
