²⁸ In the year that King Ahaz died, was this burden.

²⁹ “Do not rejoice, all you of Philistia, because the rod of him who beat you is broken. For out of the serpent’s root shall come forth a viper, and its fruit shall be a fiery flying serpent.

³⁰ “For the firstborn of the poor shall be fed, and the needy shall lie down in safety. And I will kill your root with famine. And it shall kill your remnant.
