¹² For a day belonging to the Lord of Armies is coming
against all that is proud and lofty,^(A)
against all that is lifted up – it will be humbled –

⁶ Wail! For the day of the Lord is near.^(A)
It will come as destruction from the Almighty.^(B)

⁸ For the Lord has a day of vengeance,^(A)
a time of paying back Edom
for its hostility against Zion.
