¹² Therefore on that day the Lord ^[a]God of armies called you to ^(A)weeping, to wailing,
To ^(B)shaving the head, and to wearing sackcloth.

¹³ Instead, there is ^(A)joy and jubilation,
Killing of cattle and slaughtering of sheep,
Eating of meat and drinking of wine:
“^(B)Let’s eat and drink, for tomorrow we may die.”

⁵ The inhabitants of Samaria will fear
For the ^[a](A)calf of ^(B)Beth-aven.
Indeed, its people will mourn for it,
And its ^(C)idolatrous priests ^[b]will cry out over it,
Over its ^(D)glory, since it has left it.
